Seniors - Things to Consider Doing Now

  1.  Send SAT scores to the schools you are interested in applying to. Go to www.collegeboard.org, view and send scores.
  2. Complete FAFSA at https://fafsa.ed.gov. FAFSA needs to be completed to qualify for loans,  grants, and scholarships. Financial aid is given to students entering college or trade schools.
  3. Start college/trade school applications - Students with free/reduced lunch can apply to some schools for free using the waiver codes found on their CollegeBoard accounts.
  4. Complete Rave sheets. See your counselor for a copy. Once the sheets are completed, make copies to give to two teachers and your guidance counselor.
  5. Tell your counselor when you have completed a school's application. Your transcript and letters of recommendation will be sent to the school. You can also request the transcript be sent sooner.
  6. Throughout the process, you can continue visiting schools.
  7. Scholarships - Start with local scholarships. Some are posted on the Guidance tab on WHS website. Niche, Cappex, and Scholly are good sites/app. Also check with scholarships from the school you are considering attending.
